ActiveXplorer 4 by Aivosto Oy is the latest released version of this shareware for Windows. It has been developed to help us manage our computer libraries. After opening the program, we can view the following components: ActiveX controls, DLL servers, EXE servers; as well as .NET assemblies and .NET assemblies with COM. By selecting any of these buttons, the program starts searching for all the components in the specified category. The full list is presented in the Main Screen. We are able to see component's name, type, file path, version, CLSID, and threading model. All components have a preceding icon that can vary, depending on whether the file is a COM component or a .NET assembly, or whether the component has a minor error or is missing. Additionally, it is possible to refresh the list, copy, print analysis results, choose to register/unregister component, compare and analyze a selected component, search for a file in the list, save, and many more. We can download the evaluation version directly from the developer’s website, and try it free of charge. The demo has two limitations, and these are that we can only view file information about the first 50 components, and only the member for 1 class per component. There is a good help guide, which includes how to install .NET Analysis Modules. It runs under Windows XP, 2000, NT, ME, 98, and 95 operating systems.
